The human biological phenomena of commercial relevant content is the most powerful and sustained system of propaganda in human history and its cumulative cultural effects, unless quickly checked, will be responsible for destroying the world as we know it.

Christ didn't come to bring peace...but a 'sword'...whether in India or any other physical place on the globe. But..hey...'messing up' death and returning it to Life...is a worthy cause.

Interesting post. Enjoyed it.

Hello,

You've mention it quite right about India and the name and yes they are true. I'm an Indian and a Christian. But unlike the people in North and South India, we, from the north-eastern part of the country don't changes our family name. Also, since Christianity in our region have been long cultured in the regions.

The sequel to “Pagan Christianity?” is out now. It’s called “Reimagining Church”. It picks up where “Pagan Christianity” left off and continues the conversation. (“Pagan Christianity” was never meant to be a stand alone book; it’s part one of the conversation.) “Reimagining Church” is endorsed by Leonard Sweet, Shane Claiborne, Alan Hirsch, and many others. You can read a sample chapter at
http://www.ReimaginingChurch.org .
It’s also available on Amazon.com. Frank is also blogging now at http://www.frankviola.wordpress.com .

Also, for a look at the purpose and vision behind these books, check out Viola's brand new book, "From Eternity to Here" at http://www.frometernitytohere.org .

Enjoyed your comments on the book..especially what you said regarding authors attitude toward the traditional model.. It is so easy to be negative...I've done it myself. It feels good, but as you said, if Jesus had only one way of doing it, he would have said so.

absolutely!

several years ago a friend of mine said something i still can't get out of my mind. he is a full-time minister and easily spends over an hour a day in the word, preaches several times a week, and does deliverance ministry. we were talking about a particularly good worship service time and he said something like "i wish i could get into god's presence like that more often. it's been years."

i wanted to cry, honestly. it's hard for me to believe someone goes days; but years? yikes!

if a worship leader's job is to bring the whole room into the presence of the lord, i think we fail too too often.
